Here's a link to an excellent article by Madeline Grant in the Daily Telegraph (DT) - The shameless political class holds voters in contempt (telegraph.co.uk).
It ably illustrates the corruption, hypocrisy and cynicism of our ruling class, pointing out the similarity between 18th Century bribery and corruption with the same shenanigans going on today. Miss Grant makes the valid points that not even Labour politicians can make a sensible case for giving children of 16 the vote, and that Sunak's shameless attempt at bribing pensioners to swallow their disgust and vote Tory is wholly cynical - and almost certainly a false promise.
