In Defence of Western Values is a 40 minute video of a debate on Youtube by the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) featuring one of ARC's bosses, Winston Marshall, Eva Vlaardingerbroak, a Dutch lawyer and political commenter, Africa Brooke, a writer originally from Zimbabwe and Konstantin Kisin, originally from Russia and writer and political pundit.
Here they discuss western values of liberty and free speech. Personally I disagree with Kisin is outside the western value sphere. He also says that we need to be careful in talking about western values, as he says both communism and Nazism also have their roots in western values. In my opinion there are two sets of western values in competition with each other, the individual v the collective. The ideas of equality and state control are in the collectivist camp, free speech and individual liberty in the individual. We are now very much in a collectivist era, which is why we face such a threat to free speech.
