When sentencing Sara’s father (may he rot in hell) to a minimum term of 40 years for subjecting her to years of “inconceivable cruelty” the learned judge, Mr Justice Cavanagh, pointed out the most important lesson to be learned from this sickening case. Yes, sharp as a tack, he latched on to the critical factor, saying that the murder of Sara Sharif “starkly illustrates” the dangers of allowing vulnerable children to be home-schooled.
